What is acne ?Acne is an inflammatory disorder of the skin which is due to an imbalance of the body's hormones. When testosterone in the body is too high there is increased activity of the oil glands. As a result of this the skin cannot perform its exfoliation process properly which causes dead skins cells to clog up the follicles of hair. This leads to the increase in skin bacteria (Propionibacterium acnes) which will attract the white blood cells causing inflammation and then acne lesions can be see forming. |
